Research in View

Research in View is LIVE!

Research in View (https://osu.researchinview.thomsonreuters.com/) went live at The Ohio State University on Friday, February 24th, 2012.  To sign in to Research in View, Ohio State users will use their University lastname.# username and password.

Overview

Research in View is a data management system developed by Thomson-Reuters in conjunction with OCIO Learning Technology.  Research in View is based off of OSU:pro through a close working partnership between Thomson-Reuters and the OSU:pro team.  This means Thomson-Reuters was able to use six years of OSU:pro experience and feedback to evolve Research in View into a more user friendly system that still includes all the features OSU faculty expect.

Promotion and Tenure

The Promotion and Tenure process will remain the same.

The Promotion and Tenure Dossier Report will be created through Research in View.  The Dossier Report produced from Research in View will be exactly the same as the OSU:pro Dossier Report and will follow the Office of Academic Affairs guidelines.  The fact that the Dossier Report will be produced from a new system does not change anything else in the Promotion and Tenure process.

Why Research in View?

Thomson-Reuters’ vast resources and databases allow them to add revolutionary features to Research in View.  For example, a Publication Recommendation Import System means that users will have to do  less manual data entry. Advanced reporting options will let users create more usable and customizable reports.

Your existing OSU:pro experience and data will not be lost!

Although the user interface of Research in View will be different than OSU:pro, an OSU:pro user will be able to easily navigate their Research in View profile.  All categories will retain the same name from OSU:pro; such as the familiar Teaching, Research, and Service sections.
